Disco fashion reigned at the Pioneering Women Media Party that celebrated the nonprofit organization’s honorees “Women Who Mean Business:” Janet Floyd, manager of administration and human resources at the Port of Beaumont; LouAnna Thomas, retired community activist; Elaine Shellengberger, executive director of Nutrition and Services for Seniors; Gail Cawley Showalter, a writer, childbirth and Braille educator and nonprofit founder and leader for single moms; Ines Alvidres, a Mexican artist; Racquel West, Judge 252nd District Court; Kristie Young, associate director of development at Lamar University.
Pioneering Women founder Georgine Guillory and others of “The Revolution,” celebrated these women and invited everyone to attend the luncheon, August 4th at 11:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Plaza. Guillory also introduced luncheon speaker Sherry Ulmer, Beaumont Health Department Director.
